The Sparkle Kingdom Sweep

Tavi yawned and dragged her feet past her toothbrush cup. She flopped onto her bed, hugging Floppy tight. Grandma tucked the star-and-moon blanket close. "Brushing again?" Tavi grumbled. "So boring."

"Just five more minutes of play," Tavi whispered, eyes drooping. Grandma smiled and smoothed her hair, saying nothing. Floppy's small pink nose gave a tiny flicker. Tavi didn't notice — but something was about to happen.

Suddenly Floppy's nose glowed bubblegum-pink! A tiny hum floated through the room: "Brush, swish, sparkle-shine..." The world spun into swirling glitter. Tavi felt herself shrinking, tumbling down a tunnel shaped just like her own smile!

Tavi landed with a soft bounce on a shiny white hill. Floppy stood beside her, now as tall as her shoulder, ears drooping happily. "Welcome," he said, "to the Sparkle Kingdom!" Tavi's mouth fell open.

Nearby, sticky red puddles bubbled with laughter. Little jam-colored blobs bounced up, leaving sticky footprints. "A party!" one giggled, wobbling on tiny nub legs. "Come play with us, Tavi!"

Dozens more Sugar Bugs poured out, jiggling and giggling on cake-crumb hills. They splashed in sticky puddles, tossing crumbs like confetti. "Stay and party!" they sang. Tavi laughed — it did look fun.

High on a molar-mountain, something glimmered. A silvery wand with soft bristles glowed atop the peak. Floppy's ears perked. "That's the Sparkle Brush Wand," he whispered. "It can sweep the whole kingdom clean."

Jampuff bounced close, eyes big and pleading. "Please, Tavi! Just one more night! We'll make the party even bigger — sweeter cake hills, stickier puddles!" His gap-toothed grin wobbled hopefully.

Tavi looked at the sticky puddles, then up at the glowing wand. If she let them stay, would her whole smile turn gooey and dull forever? Her tummy fluttered with a big, tricky feeling.

A low rumble echoed from the back teeth. RRRRUMBLE! Tavi froze. "A monster?" she whispered, heart pounding. She crept closer on tiptoe, holding tight to Floppy's paw.

The rumble grew louder — RRRRRRR-ACHOO! A puff of rainbow glitter burst out. Behind a rock sat a tiny, wrinkly purple blob, wheezing and blinking. It was not scary at all.

Tavi burst out laughing! She poked Wheezle's tummy — he squealed, ticklish, sneezing glitter everywhere. Her fear melted into giggles. Suddenly brave, she raced back toward the molar-mountain, grabbed the wand, and grinned.

Tavi swished the Sparkle Brush Wand in big glittering loops. Minty foam swirled like snow! "Wheee!" cheered Jampuff, sliding away on the foamy waves with Wheezle right behind, both squealing with joy.

One by one, all the Sugar Bugs zoomed down the foamy slide, laughing the whole way. The kingdom sparkled bright and clean, like a snow globe someone had just shaken. Tavi twirled with pride.

The glittering tunnel swirled around Tavi again, gently this time. She floated up, up, up — and landed softly in her own bed, hugging Floppy tight, humming without even knowing it.

The next evening, no one had to ask. Tavi marched to the sink, grabbed her toothbrush, and hummed all by herself: "Brush, swish, sparkle-shine — that's the magic, all mine!" Grandma smiled from the doorway.
